Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Claused LLC (“Claused,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact info you provide (name, email address) when you sign up for our email list, contact us, or request support.
- Billing info you provide at checkout (name, email, billing address, and the last four digits of your payment card). Full payment card numbers are processed by our payment processor and are not stored by Claused.
- Account info if you create a Claused account (username, password hash, account preferences).
- Feedback, reviews, survey responses, and testimonials you voluntarily send us.
Information collected automatically
- Basic analytics about your visit to claused.shop — pages viewed, time on site, device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring site.
- Cookie and similar technology data (see our Cookie Policy).
Information from third parties
- Our payment processor shares transaction details with us (amount, product, approximate location, success/failure).
- Our email service provider shares delivery and engagement data (open, click).
2. How we use your information
- To deliver the Products you purchase.
- To send you order confirmations, receipts, and customer support messages.
- To send marketing emails to subscribers who opted in, until they unsubscribe.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and the Products.
- To detect and prevent fraud or misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only as needed to operate Claused, and only with:
- Our payment processor (currently Gumroad and/or Stripe) for processing transactions.
- Our email service provider for delivering emails.
- Analytics providers for Site measurement.
- Hosting, storage, and technical service providers.
- Professional advisors (accountants, attorneys) subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Law enforcement or government authorities when required by law.
- An acquirer, successor, or assignee in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our business.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Your rights
If you are in the United States
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain processing. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other state residents may have additional specific rights. To exercise these rights, email privacy@claused.shop.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland
You have rights under the GDPR (and UK GDPR) to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email privacy@claused.shop.
5. Data retention
We keep order and transaction records for as long as required by tax and accounting rules (typically at least 7 years). We keep email subscriber data until you unsubscribe. We keep analytics data in aggregated form. Support and contact messages are retained for up to 3 years.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the internet.
7. Children
The Site is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, contact privacy@claused.shop and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Claused operates in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection standards than your country.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email to subscribers where feasible.
